“Soft Power” and the K-Pop Industry

South Korea's soft power is a potential factor that has helped the "Ginseng Country" achieve economic success, technological progress, and industrial policies.

In 2020, the Korean film Parasite won the most awards, including Best Picture and Best Director at the Academy Awards. It was the first South Korean film to be nominated for an Academy Award. It was followed by K-Pop group BTS topping the US Billboard music chart, and Korean TV dramas went global via streaming service Netflix.
