Competence Is Not Enough

We may have often heard or read about core competency. By definition, core competence or core competence is a unique skill or ability possessed by an organization that gives the organization a competitive advantage in the market or industry.

This includes a combination of skills, technology, knowledge, and processes that enable an organization to deliver greater value to customers compared to its competitors. Core competencies are the foundation of an organization's long-term success because they are difficult for competitors to imitate. This difficulty arises due to factors such as historical context, causal ambiguity, or other social complexities.
