Where to Take Indonesian Medicine?
Indonesia, with a population of around 273 million people, still faces problems in fulfilling its healthcare workforce needs. Currently, the doctor to population ratio in Indonesia is 5 doctors per 10,000 people. This ratio only reaches half of the ratio set by the World Health Organization (WHO), which is 1:1000.
Based on data from the Health Data and Information Center of the Ministry of Health of Indonesia in 2019, the number of doctors conducting health services only reached 40 doctors per 100,000 population. This shows that the need for general practitioners in this country is still inadequate.
