Elan China Becomes a World Class Travel Destination

China is currently lifting travel restrictions, both domestically and internationally. Despite the uncertainty and doubts surrounding short-term travel, tourists to the Land of the Bamboo Curtain still express a strong desire for leisure travel. The lift of quarantine requirements at the beginning of 2023 may lead to a surge in demand for international travel.

In China, there are signs of travel recovery strengthening. According to a McKinsey report, the recent Chinese New Year holiday resulted in 308 million domestic trips with tourism revenue reaching nearly RMB 376 billion. This increase shows that domestic travel volume has recovered up to 90 percent from the 2019 figure, and spending has risen to around 70 percent of pre-pandemic levels.
